JMDC encourages students
to be involved in extra curricular activities such as
sports, debates, drama, music, art and creative writing
to broaden and complete their education. The committee
for extracurricular affairs coordinates activities initiated
and administered by students. Students and Faculty are
encouraged to submit original articles on topics current
in medicine and dentistry as well as other matters of
general interest for the College Newspaper and Magazine.
Weekly singing classes
taught by a qualified master culminate in the Annual
Singing competition. The Annual Function is one of the
most awaited occasions as students present their own
drams, skits and choreographies. The Annual Debate Competition
is another event not to be missed where students fiercely
debate relevant current issues in both English and Urdu.
JMDC excels in sports
as well. A full time Sports Department coaches and schedules
team activities in which students compete within the
College, Inter-college, Provincial and National Events
in the following sports: Basketball, Cricket, Football,
Throwball, Badminton, Table Tennis and Athletics. JMDC
has teams for both boys and girls in all disciplines.

The young doctors-to-be, or
rather five-star doctors-to-be of JMDC have
joined hands to serve humanity even before they
have become full fledged professionals. CARE,
that is Care And Rehabilitation in Emergency
(CARE) is the drug bank that was established
on November 6, 2001 as a recognized NGO, although
it started to function much earlier than that.
History begins with a group of students getting
together to solve the problems of countless
patients who come to be treated, only to discover
later that they cannot cover the cost of treatment.
One student alone cannot possibly help a patient
on his own. And so dawned the day when the Dean
approved this welfare trust and our modest drug
bank came into being.
Things started off with the patients being supplied
with free medication. They have progressed to
helping patients with their laboratory tests
and other particulars of follow-up treatment
plans. And from then onwards, CARE has held
various camps. A free check-up for diabetes
and hypertension was conducted at a camp on
the college premises. A whole course of hepatitis
B vaccination has been completed at a rate considerably
lower than the usual rates.
The best part about our organization is that
CARE has tried to keep the 'fun' in the FUND-raising.
Films are shown in the college auditorium on
a regular basis. Students are charged entry
and the proceeds go to the organization.
Donations, Zakat and volunteers are
all welcome
