In 1997, the Trust established the School of Nursing at Medicare Hospital, which
has consistently shown good results in board examinations. In 1998, the Trust
established Jinnah Medical and Dental College, admitting its first batch of MBBS

The Trust has built a teaching hospital in the Korangi Industrial Area for
low-income residents. This not-for-profit hospital is ideal for training of
undergraduate and post-graduate students. The Out Patient Department of the
hospital opened to the public in 2002 and inpatient services were available from
April 2003. |

The Trust has also acquired land in a katchi abadi in Landhi where a Primary
Health Care (PHC) center has been constructed. Its location is ideal for a PHC
unit from which out-reach services spread out into the community. This provides
a firm basis for community health activities since Community Oriented Medical
Education (COME) is an important part of the Trust's mission statement. |

|
The Trust has offered an average of 50 scholarships each year to medical and
dental students. These scholarships are given to meritorious, deserving
candidates. The Trust also provides stipends, uniforms and tuition for all its
nursing students. |
