WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

The Pakistan Association for Mental Health (PAMH) organized the World Mental Health Day at Jinnah Medical and Dental College with the theme: “Living with Schizophrenia and Sindh Mental Health Act-2013.” The session was chaired by Justice (Retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid. President PAMH, Dr. Haroon Ahmed, briefed the audience about the steps taken since 2001 to streamline the ordinance with the help of senior advocates, judges and users. Prof Iqbal Afridi of JPMC spoke on Schizophrenia, Dr. Uzma Ambareen on living with Schizophrenia, Tabinda Afzal on Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Dr. Anita Aijaz delivered lecture on responsible reporting. The second session was on Interactive session on Stress, the most prevalent state of mind in Pakistan, especially in Karachi. It was conducted by Dr. Tariq Sohail, Chairman, S.M.Sohail Trust.
